Mads Dal

Co-Founder & Investment Lead, LandCapital

Mads began his property development career in 2005 with a single studio apartment in North London, bought at auction with little experience and plenty of ambition. That first project delivered £80,000 profit — the start of what would become a 20-year career delivering over £150 million in residential property projects.

Since then, Mads has delivered penthouses in Mayfair, mansions in Belgravia, and developments for royal families and private ultra-high-net-worth clients across the UK and Europe. He is currently leading a £12 million beachfront redevelopment in Portugal, portfolio-projects in Copenhagen and numerous Super-Prime London sites. He works to document his developments publicly to demonstrate exactly how modern developers source, structure, and execute deals.

Having experienced both major wins and near-failure during the 2008 financial crisis, Mads is known for his pragmatic, risk-aware approach to development — focused not just on finding deals, but structuring them correctly, funding them intelligently, and executing them professionally.

Chris Rowland Smith

Co-Founder & Training Lead, LandCapital

Chris Rowland Smith is an experienced property professional, entrepreneur and advisor with over two decades of experience in planning and development roles, specialising in land acquisition, planning gain and development strategy.

He has been directly involved in the appraisal and progression of over 180 planning led sites across the UK, identifying opportunity, structuring deals, managing planning risk and unlocking value through a disciplined, commercial approach. Alongside his advisory work, Chris continues to be actively involved in development projects as both a partner and strategic advisor.

In parallel with his property career, Chris is a tech entrepreneur. Since 2013, he has been building software-driven solutions focused on development site prospecting, data led land appraisal and opportunity identification — experience that strongly informs his practical, systems-based approach to sourcing and decision making.
